A secluded stretch of Oʻahu beachfront — your ceremony on the sand, and a real Hawaiian luau for your reception.

About Us

A different kind of Hawaii wedding.

We host secluded beachfront weddings at Germaine's Luau — a venue that's been a Hawaii institution since 1976.

No crowds in your photos. A ceremony on the sand, then your own reserved section at one of the best luaus in the islands — dinner and the show, as your reception.

Your ceremony on the sand. A luau for your reception. No strangers in your photos.

"It felt like a wedding, not a checklist. We didn't realize how much that was going to matter until it did."

Why We Started

A quieter way to marry in Hawaii.

Wedding venues in Hawaii had gotten expensive. And public beach ceremonies — while beautiful — meant strangers in the background of your photos, beachgoers wandering through your vows, and no real way to host a reception afterward.

We wanted to offer something different. A quiet stretch of beach where strangers aren't in your photos and beachgoers aren't wandering through your vows. Where guests flying in from out of state can have the full Hawaii experience — a beachfront ceremony, then a real Hawaiian luau as the reception, with dinner and the show at one of the best luaus in the islands.

That's what Hoʻoheno is.

Hoʻoheno means cherished. That's how we want your day to feel.

How many guests can you accommodate?
Up to twenty for an elopement, up to seventy-five for a small wedding, and up to two hundred for a full wedding. We tailor each experience to your guest count.
What days can we have our wedding?
We hold weddings on days the luau is running, so your ceremony flows right into the luau reception. Availability varies by season and date — reach out and we'll let you know what's open.
How far out should we book?
We're currently booking 2026 and 2027. The earlier the better — we only take a small number of weddings per year, and dates fill quickly.
Can we bring our own vendors?
We're always happy to work with vendors you love, and we welcome your suggestions. We also keep a small list of preferred vendors we trust and work with often — people who know the venue and show up every time. Most couples land on a mix of both.
Can we bring our own wedding planner?
In most cases, day-of coordination stays with us — we know the venue and have the relationship with Germaine's staff. If you have a planner you've been working with on design and pre-wedding planning, we're often able to collaborate. Let's talk.
How does the reception work?
Your reception is the luau. After the ceremony, you and your guests move to your own reserved section on Germaine's grounds for dinner and the show — the full Hawaiian feast, hula, and fire dancers. It's one of the things that makes Hoʻoheno different: a real luau reception, without strangers at your table.
Do you handle the marriage license?
We walk you through the Hawaii marriage license process and help with timing. The license itself is between you and the state, but we make sure nothing slips through the cracks.
Where is the venue located?
Germaine's Luau is at 91-119 Olai Street, Kapolei, HI 96707 — on Oʻahu's leeward coast, about 27 miles from Waikiki. Beachfront, oceanfront, sunset-facing.
How do we book?
Send us an inquiry. We'll respond within seventy-two hours, share a personalized proposal, and invite you for a tour — in person or virtually. If everything feels right, we lock in your date with a signed agreement.
How is pricing handled?
We share investment details in your custom proposal. Every wedding is a little different, so the proposal is built around what you actually want — not a one-size-fits-all package.
What about hair and makeup?
We don't include glam in our packages. Most couples either do their own, have a friend or family member do it, or bring a preferred artist. We're happy to share recommendations.

Still have questions?
